Sara Arabi

Sara has 20 years of experience in environmental consulting, research, and process engineering for water/wastewater treatment. She has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Western University in Canada and is currently a wastewater practice leader at Stantec. Her primary background and area of expertise is wastewater treatment plant modeling, design and optimization for wastewater treatment facilities across North America for municipal and industrial applications. She is been involved in upgrades/expansions, retrofit analyses, and capacity assessments for Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) plants, membrane-based treatment processes, and nutrient recovery applications. She has published her work in several peer reviewed journals—specifically in the wastewater treatment and solid waste practice areas—and presented at conferences around the world.
