Dr. Sorenson is Allonnia’s Chief Technology Officer, committed to our mission to solve the world’s biggest environmental challenges using advanced biotechnology. Allonnia’s technology development portfolio is far-reaching, including bioremediation of emerging contaminants such as PFAS, sustainable mining, recovery of rare earth elements from waste sources, upcycling of plastics, biosensing, and carbon sequestration. Dr. Sorenson is internationally recognized in remediation, having pioneered technologies not only in the US, but also in  Europe, Asia and Australia. He has coauthored at least 40 scientific publications and over 200 presentations at various national and international conferences and has six U.S. patents with others pending. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was awarded the 2020 American Society of Civil Engineers Henry L. Michel Award for Innovation in Research. When not solving environmental challenges, Kent is an avid fly fisherman and outdoor adventurer.
